Group and Individual Golf Tuition
Since 2020, all golf tuition at Forres Golf Club has been delivered by the David Torrance Golf Academy. The Academy enhances the club’s outstanding practice environment, which now includes a state-of-the-art golf simulator (added in 2024), a full driving range, a practice putting green, and dedicated short game areas.

A Partnership Approach
Forres Golf Club has a reputation for producing elite golfers with many reaching the highest level of amateur golf in Scotland and recently one of our members, Jeff Wright, progressed to the professional tours. Our collaboration with David Torrance Golf Academy is aimed at ensuring future generations have the opportunity to receive professional tuition at the Club. Our collaboration allows us to provide a golf academy recognised as the premier golf academy in the area and we are extremely excited to see the Academy grow.
About the academy
Coaching for All
David Torrance is recognised as one of Scotland’s elite teaching professionals. He established his reputation as a first class coach whilst Head Professional at Nairn Dunbar Golf Club in The Highlands of Scotland, and in 2016 he was presented with the Scottish Golf Coach of The Year award. With his reputation assured, he left Nairn Dunbar in 2018 and joined Spey Valley Golf Club in Aviemore, where he was a full time Coach. Now with an established Academy David and his team run coaching for Adults and several programs throughout the year for junior golfers.
